Japanese Tea
Finally we can introduce the 2022 harvest of our Japanese teas.
These were already flown in in July and we have been dying to present them to you.
Japanese tea differs tremendously from the rest of the world's offerings. Although the majority of Japanese teas are green, they still bear little resemblance to their Chinese counterparts. While China's green tea tradition is based on pure, light, roasted characters, in Japan we find fuller, umami-rich teas, often with algal notes.
Of course, they are made for Japanese cuisine, but also exceptionally good with a fine fish and shellfish dish. You also get a very elegant and unique taste break with Japanese teas for sweets and cheeses. Well worth trying is a Gyokuro or finer Sencha instead of wine with the dessert cheese
